Commitment to International Initiatives
Joining the United Nations Global Compact
The United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) is a voluntary initiative by companies and organizations to participate in the development of a global framework for sustainable growth.
We will continue our efforts to realize the 10 principles in the four areas of “Human Rights,” “Labour,” “Environment,” and “Anti-Corruption”. The Company has been a signatory to the UNGC since 2022.
By signing the UNGC, we are clearly expressing our corporate stance and our management philosophy of contributing to healthcare through the development and marketing of cutting-edge, superior medical devices.
The Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact
Human Rights
- Principle 1
- Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights; and
- Principle 2
- make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.
Labour
- Principle 3
- Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;
- Principle 4
- the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour;
- Principle 5
- the effective abolition of child labour; and
- Principle 6
- the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
Environment
- Principle 7
- Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;
- Principle 8
- undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and
- Principle 9
- encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
Anti-Corruption
- Principle 10
- Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures(TCFD)
CDP, an international information disclosure system for environmental assessments also known as the Carbon Disclosure Project, has certified us with a B score in the Management category, one rank up from the previous year, as a company that manages risks and impacts due to climate change. In addition, with regard to water security, we were certified with a B- score at the Management level, indicating that we are aware of our environmental risks and impacts and are working to address them.
